Otterly.AI is the cheapest way to start tracking AI search, at $29 a month. The bill climbs fast once you add Claude, Gemini and Google AI Mode, and even after its 2026 updates it still stops at monitoring.
These 10 alternatives either cost less for full engine coverage or do something with the data once you have it. Prices checked September 27, 2026.
Disclosure: we build Orchly, an agentic AI search optimization platform, so we're one of the tools here. We've signed up for and used most of the others ourselves, and some of what we share comes from customers who switched to us from them. Either way, we've tried to give you the good and the bad on every tool, ours included, so you can make the right call.

1. Orchly: best Otterly alternative for agentic AI search optimization
Otterly tells you whether ChatGPT mentions you. Orchly tells you that too, then shows why you're missing and runs the agents that fix it: new articles, page refreshes, outreach to the sites AI cites, and technical fixes.
It also brings in the Google side Otterly doesn't have. Search Console and GA4 sit next to your AI data, so you can see whether visibility turns into traffic and revenue.
What Orchly does after the dashboard
- Content Agent writes and refreshes for you. It watches your prompts, citations and decaying pages, then creates tasks. Approve one, and the AI article writer drafts it in your brand voice and publishes to WordPress, Webflow, Framer, Wix, Sanity or Ghost.
- Mention Gap shows who to contact. Otterly lists the domains AI cites. Orchly goes a step further and shows which of those sources mention your competitors but not you.
- Activation Agent does the outreach. It finds those publishers, plus Reddit threads, YouTube videos and new search results mentioning your category, and sends link building and citation outreach from your own Gmail, Zoho Mail or SMTP inbox.
- Site Health Agent fixes what blocks AI crawlers. Otterly's GEO audit flags page issues. Orchly's Site Health Agent audits every page for technical SEO and AI search problems, ranks them, and helps you fix them.
Data Otterly doesn't give you
- Organic traffic and revenue. Orchly pulls clicks, impressions, conversions and revenue from Google Search Console and GA4. Otterly's Agent Analytics, launched in August 2026, counts AI bot visits, but it can't tell you what those visits were worth.
- Page 360. One screen per URL with its Search Console, GA4 and AI visibility data, so you know which pages carry you in both Google and ChatGPT.
- Perception, not just sentiment. Reviewers say Otterly's sentiment can tag a neutral mention as negative. Orchly shows the attributes AI links to your brand, where competitors stand on them, and the objections buyers hear.
- Fact check. Orchly's Brand Brain stores your real pricing, products and positioning. Every AI answer is checked against it, so outdated or wrong claims about you get flagged.
The tracking you're used to, with more context
- Prompts tagged by brand and intent. Each prompt is marked branded or non-branded, and commercial, informational or transactional, so you can see where you lose new buyers rather than people who already know you.
- Real answers from real interfaces. Prompts run through ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews the way a buyer uses them, from varied locations. Gemini, AI Mode, Claude and Grok are optional add-ons.
- Query fan-outs and AI traffic. See the background searches ChatGPT runs before it answers, and separate AI bot crawls from real visitors on Pro.

Where Orchly falls short
- Fewer prompts per dollar at the bottom. Otterly Lite gives you 15 prompts for $29. Orchly Essential gives you 25 for $49, so if you only want to check a handful of prompts, Otterly is cheaper.
- Fewer seats on the entry plan. Otterly includes unlimited seats. Orchly Essential has 1 user, and Pro has 5.
- Copilot isn't tracked. Otterly includes Microsoft Copilot on every plan.
Pricing: Essential $49/month (25 prompts, 20 articles, 1 site, 1 user). Pro $125/month (100 prompts, 50 articles, 3 sites, 5 users, AI traffic analytics, custom agents, white-label reports). 7-day free trial.
Best for: teams who've outgrown "are we mentioned?" and want the work that improves it done in the same tool.

2. Peec AI: best for cleaner tracking with unlimited seats
Peec AI is the tool most often recommended as an Otterly alternative, and the most direct swap. It covers the same job, accurate share of voice, position and source tracking, with a more polished dashboard and 50 prompts on its Starter plan.
- Why switch from Otterly. More prompts at the entry tier, strong multi-language support, source opportunities scored by type, and, since September 2026, Brand Perception with fact checks and AI referral tracking through GA4.
- Where it falls short. Every self-serve plan tracks only 3 engines, and Claude is a premium upgrade. Like Otterly, it has no content creation, outreach or Search Console data.
Pricing: Starter from about €85/month (50 prompts, 3 engines). Pro about €205/month (150 prompts).
Best for: teams happy with monitoring who want a tidier tool and more prompts for the money.
3. LLMrefs: best for all engines at one flat price
LLMrefs solves Otterly's add-on problem directly. One plan covers 10 engines, including Claude, Gemini, AI Mode, Grok and DeepSeek, with no extra fees.
- Why switch from Otterly. Full engine coverage for $79 a month, unlimited seats, an API, and free tools like a crawlability checker and a Reddit thread finder.
- Where it falls short. Results update weekly, not daily, and prompts are built from keywords with estimated volumes. There's no content or action layer, and the $79 price is labeled a limited-time offer.
Pricing: $79/month, single plan. 7-day free trial.
Best for: small teams that want every engine covered cheaply and can live with weekly data.
4. Scrunch: best for technical AEO and bot control
Scrunch is the step up if your problem is technical: how AI crawlers read your site and what they receive. Its Agent Experience Platform (AXP) serves AI-optimized versions of your pages to bots, and it monitors agent traffic by page.
- Why switch from Otterly. Deeper crawler analytics, persona-based prompts, 350 prompts on the entry plan, and misinformation detection.
- Where it falls short. The floor is $250 a month on yearly billing, versus Otterly's $29. AXP needs engineering time, and there's no content or outreach.
Pricing: Starter $300/month ($250 billed yearly), Growth $500/month.
Best for: mid-market teams with developers who own the website.
5. AthenaHQ: best for many engines plus guided actions
AthenaHQ tracks up to 11 models, including Claude, Grok, DeepSeek and Meta AI, and pairs them with an Action Center that recommends on-page and off-page fixes.
- Why switch from Otterly. Far wider engine coverage without add-ons on the paid plan, a free tier with 5 engines, and recommendations tied to prompts.
- Where it falls short. Credits (1 per AI response) run out quickly, and there's no plan between free and $295. Hallucination detection is Enterprise only.
Pricing: Free tier. Starter $295/month (3,600 credits, 11 models).
Best for: growth teams that want broad coverage and direction, and can manage credits.
6. Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit: best if your SEO already runs on Semrush
Otterly is a Semrush technology partner, but Semrush now has its own AI Visibility Toolkit. It tracks ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini and Perplexity inside the SEO suite you already use.
- Why switch from Otterly. Organic rankings, keyword data and an AI search site audit in one place, plus a prompt database with volume estimates.
- Where it falls short. 25 prompts per domain, weekly brand performance data, and per-domain pricing that adds up for agencies. It recommends but doesn't execute.
Pricing: $99/month per domain, billed yearly.
Best for: SEO teams already paying for Semrush.
7. SE Visible: best for agencies tracking many brands
SE Ranking's SE Visible is priced by brand, not by domain, with unlimited seats. It covers Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, and tracks both linked and unlinked mentions.
- Why switch from Otterly. 450 prompts across 5 brands on its Core plan, with AI Mode and Gemini included instead of sold as add-ons.
- Where it falls short. Claude is still listed as coming soon, there's no Grok or Copilot, and it tracks without creating content or doing outreach.
Pricing: Basic $99/month (3 brands), Core $189/month (450 prompts, 5 brands).
Best for: agencies and multi-brand teams on a budget.
8. Rankscale: best for control over cadence and cost
Rankscale lets you choose engines and refresh frequency for each prompt, from hourly to monthly, and pay in credits that roll over. It also shows query fan-outs and tracks sponsored placements in AI answers, which matters more now that ChatGPT ads are live.
- Why switch from Otterly. 17+ engines, a lower entry price, and no paying for daily checks on prompts that only need weekly ones.
- Where it falls short. Credits add up quickly when you track many engines daily, dashboards are sparse, and there's no reporting or fix layer.
Pricing: Essentials from $20/month. Pro $99/month (1,200 credits).
Best for: hands-on SEOs who want raw data and tight cost control.
9. LLM Pulse: best budget pick with AI Mode included
LLM Pulse costs about the same as Otterly Lite, but includes Google AI Mode and Gemini on every plan and gives you 50 prompts to start.
- Why switch from Otterly. More prompts and more engines at the entry price, unlimited seats, and MCP on all plans.
- Where it falls short. Tracking is weekly unless you pay for daily, sentiment starts on Growth, and the 14-day trial needs a card.
Pricing: Starter €49/month (50 prompts), Growth €99/month (150 prompts).
Best for: small teams that want Otterly's price with AI Mode included.
10. Profound: best for Fortune 500 brands
Profound is the enterprise end of this category, with 9 engines, a consumer prompt-volume panel, AI agents and SSO. In September 2026, right after a $180M Series D, it dropped its $99 and $399 plans. It now sells only custom Enterprise contracts, plus a 7-day trial.
- Why switch from Otterly. Depth, scale and support that a $29 tool can't match.
- Where it falls short. No self-serve price, and the jump from Otterly's budget is large. Agent work runs on credits.
Pricing: Custom, Enterprise only.
Best for: large brands with a team and budget dedicated to AI search.
What Otterly really costs with every engine
Otterly's headline prices include ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot. Google AI Mode, Gemini and Claude are paid add-ons, priced by plan. Claude only became available in June 2026, and only as an add-on. Here's the math as of September 2026:
| Plan | Base price | AI Mode | Gemini | Claude | All 7 engines |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lite (15 prompts) | $29 | +$9 | +$9 | +$29 | $76 |
| Standard (100 prompts) | $189 | +$59 | +$59 | +$109 | $416 |
| Premium (400 prompts) | $489 | +$149 | +$149 | +$439 | $1,226 |
At Standard, 100 prompts across all 7 engines cost about $4.16 per prompt, not the $1.89 the headline price suggests.
When to stay with Otterly
Switching isn't always right. Otterly shipped a lot in 2026: sentiment in March, recommendations in April, an API and MCP server by June, and Agent Analytics in August. It paused ChatGPT ads tracking in September 2026 after platform changes. It's still a good choice if:
- You only need ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot, so add-ons don't apply.
- You want unlimited seats and fast setup, and you'll handle content and outreach in other tools.
- You're an agency that needs cheap multi-brand monitoring, and your clients don't need white-label reports.
Which Otterly alternative should you choose?
- You want the data and the fixes in one tool: Orchly.
- You want a cleaner tracker with more prompts: Peec AI.
- You want every engine for one flat price: LLMrefs.
- Your SEO team lives in Semrush: the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit.
Whichever tool you pick, give it a few weeks. AI answers move day to day, and the trend matters more than any single reading.
