HubSpot AEO made AI visibility tracking a checkbox inside the CRM a lot of B2B teams already run on. It costs $50 a month on its own and comes with Marketing Hub Pro and Enterprise. For a first look at how ChatGPT talks about you, that's a fair deal.
The trouble starts about a month in. You get 25 prompts and three engines: ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. There's no Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Claude or Copilot, and the product is still labeled beta. Teams we talk to hit the prompt cap first, then realize the recommendations still leave most of the work to them.
This guide is for you if you've outgrown it, or want to check the field before you commit. Checked September 2026.
Full disclosure: we build Orchly, and it's one of the tools on this list. We've used most of these tools ourselves, some of the notes come from customers who switched to or from them, and the rest come from G2 and user reviews. Every tool gets its good and bad points here, ours included.

1. Orchly: best HubSpot AEO alternative to track more engines and fix the gaps
HubSpot AEO tells you where you stand in three chatbots. Orchly shows you where you stand in AI answers and Google, then its agents write the content, send the outreach and flag the site fixes that move the numbers.
Most people who come to us from HubSpot AEO have the same story. The visibility score was useful for a leadership slide, but nobody could say which page to write next or which site to pitch.
More engines, real answers
- Google is covered by default. ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews are tracked daily on every plan. Gemini, AI Mode, Claude and Grok are add-ons.
- Real interfaces, not an API. Orchly captures answers from the actual ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews interfaces, so you see what a buyer sees.
- Prompts you can sort. Every prompt is tagged branded or non-branded and by intent, and prompt research suggests new ones for your category.
See which pages AI trusts
HubSpot AEO shows cited domains and content types. Orchly goes one step further with Mention Gap. It reads each cited page and lists the ones that name your competitors but not you.
That list is your outreach plan. It's usually a handful of G2 pages, listicles and Reddit threads, not your own blog.
Check what AI says about you
- Perception. See the attributes AI links to your brand and the objections it raises, with a head-to-head against any competitor.
- Fact check. Orchly compares AI answers to Brand Brain, your approved facts on pricing, products and policies. Each claim is marked Supported, Contradicted or never mentioned.
For SaaS teams, this is where old pricing and retired plan names show up. See more on Orchly for SaaS.
Agents that close the gaps
- Content Agent. Turns lost prompts and decaying Search Console pages into article and refresh tasks, drafts them in your brand voice, and publishes to WordPress, Webflow, Framer, Wix, Sanity or Ghost after you approve.
- Activation Agent. Finds the backlink sites, Reddit threads and YouTube videos AI cites, drafts outreach and sends it from your Gmail, Zoho or SMTP inbox once you sign off.
- Site Health Agent. Audits your pages for technical SEO and AI search issues and ranks them by priority, with a suggested fix for each.
HubSpot drafts a blog post when you click a recommendation, at 1,000 HubSpot Credits per post. Orchly's articles come with the plan: 20 on Essential and 50 on Pro. Here's how the Orchly agents work.
Google data next to AI data
Orchly connects Search Console and GA4, so clicks, conversions and revenue sit next to your AI visibility. Pro adds AI traffic analytics, which splits AI crawler visits from real people arriving from ChatGPT and other assistants.
Where Orchly falls short
- No HubSpot connection. Orchly has no HubSpot or Salesforce CRM connector, so prompt ideas don't come from your deal data, and the Content Agent can't publish to HubSpot CMS.
- Add-on engines. Gemini, AI Mode, Claude and Grok cost extra, and Copilot isn't tracked in the app.
Pricing: Essential $49/month (25 prompts, 20 articles, 1 site). Pro $125/month (100 prompts, 50 articles, 3 sites, 5 users, AI traffic analytics). 7-day free trial.
Best for: B2B and SaaS teams that want AI and Google visibility in one place, plus agents that do the follow-up work.
See Orchly pricing or start a free trial.
2. Peec AI: best for daily tracking with unlimited seats
Peec AI is a Berlin-based AI visibility tracker and one of the most common picks for B2B and SaaS teams. Customers include Attio, n8n and ElevenLabs.
Compared with HubSpot AEO, you get more prompts for the money and more engine choice. Every plan lets you pick 3 engines from ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot.
Peec has shipped fast in 2026. AI Referrals arrived on September 11, linking GA4 sessions, conversions and revenue to each assistant, and Brand Perception followed the same month with objections and a fact check.
Why switch from HubSpot AEO
- Double the prompts. Starter tracks 50 prompts daily, and Pro tracks 150.
- Google engines included. You can choose AI Overviews or AI Mode, which HubSpot AEO doesn't track.
- Seats don't cost extra. Every plan has unlimited users.
Where it falls short
- Three engines per plan. Extra engines are paid add-ons, and Claude and Grok are premium upgrades on higher tiers or Enterprise.
- It suggests, you do. The Actions view scores opportunities, but writing and outreach stay on your plate. There's no HubSpot connector either.
Pricing: Starter about €85/month (50 prompts), Pro about €205 (150), Advanced about €425 (350). 7-day trial.
Best for: marketing teams that want reliable daily tracking and a big team on one login.
3. Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit: best if you already use Semrush for SEO
The Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit adds AI prompt tracking to the SEO suite a lot of HubSpot teams already pay for. Adobe closed its purchase of Semrush on April 28, 2026.
It covers ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini and Perplexity. The big edge over HubSpot AEO is data: Semrush has a prompt database of more than 261 million prompts, so you can see which questions matter before you track them.
Why switch from HubSpot AEO
- Better prompt research. You pick prompts from real data instead of guessing, and see prompts where competitors are cited and you're not.
- Google AI coverage. AI Overviews and AI Mode are included.
- SEO in the same login. Keyword research, backlinks and a site audit sit next to your AI data.
Where it falls short
- 25 prompts per domain. It's the same starting cap as HubSpot AEO, and 50 more prompts cost $60/month.
- Reports, not execution. It shows gaps but doesn't write or publish the fix.
Pricing: $99/month per domain billed yearly (25 prompts). Semrush One plans with AI tracking start at $199/month.
Best for: SEO-led teams already living in Semrush.
4. Otterly.AI: best budget tracker to start small
Otterly.AI is a simple, affordable monitoring tool from Vienna. It's often the first dedicated tracker a small team buys after a free grader.
The $29 Lite plan is cheaper than HubSpot AEO, though it tracks only 15 prompts. ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot are included, and Gemini, AI Mode and Claude are add-ons. In August 2026 it added Agent Analytics for AI bot logs.
Why switch from HubSpot AEO
- Four engines included. That's Copilot and AI Overviews on top of what HubSpot tracks.
- Easy to learn. G2 reviewers often mention how fast setup is.
- Data you can pipe out. Standard and up include API, MCP and a Looker Studio connector.
Where it falls short
- Add-ons add up. All seven engines on Standard cost about $416/month, per its pricing page.
- A big jump between plans. Lite is 15 prompts, and the next step is $189 for 100.
- Monitoring only. No content creation, publishing or revenue data.
Pricing: Lite $29/month (15 prompts), Standard $189 (100), Premium $489 (400). 7-day trial.
Best for: small teams that want a cheap baseline across more engines.
5. SE Visible: best value for tracking several brands
SE Visible is SE Ranking's AI visibility product. Its entry plan tracks 200 prompts across 3 brands for $99, which is eight times HubSpot AEO's standalone prompt count.
It covers ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode, Perplexity and AI Overviews, with unlimited seats. Data now refreshes daily, and Claude is listed as coming soon.
Why switch from HubSpot AEO
- Far more prompts per dollar. 200 prompts on Basic, 450 on Core and 1,000 on Plus.
- Multiple brands. Useful if you run sub-brands or product lines as separate HubSpot portals today.
- SEO next door. Pair it with SE Ranking for rank tracking and audits.
Where it falls short
- Two products. Full SEO plus AI coverage means SE Ranking and the AI Search add-on, not one tool.
- Engine gaps. No Claude, Copilot or Grok yet, and no content execution.
Pricing: Basic $99/month (200 prompts, 3 brands), Core $189 (450, 5 brands), Plus $355 (1,000, 10 brands). 20% off yearly, 10-day trial.
Best for: teams that need lots of prompts or several brands on a small budget.
6. Profound: best for enterprise teams with a big budget
Profound is the best-funded company in the category. It raised a $180M Series D at a $1.8B valuation on September 15, 2026.
It sits at the other end from HubSpot AEO. Enterprise covers up to nine engines, including Copilot, Claude and DeepSeek, plus Prompt Volumes, AI Marketer agents, GA4 and Search Console integrations and bot analytics from your CDN logs.
Why switch from HubSpot AEO
- Widest coverage. Nine engines against HubSpot's three.
- Prompt demand data. Prompt Volumes estimate how often people ask a question, which HubSpot AEO doesn't offer.
- Depth for analysts. Reviewers praise the analytics and support.
Where it falls short
- No self-serve plan. Mid-September 2026, Profound dropped its $99 and $399 plans. Beyond a 7-day trial, it's Enterprise via sales.
- Heavy for small teams. Reviewers mention a learning curve, and CRM links need the API.
Pricing: free 7-day trial (50 prompts; ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews), then custom Enterprise.
Best for: large brands with an analyst and an enterprise budget.
7. AthenaHQ: best for broad engine coverage on one plan
AthenaHQ is a YC-backed platform with customers like SoFi and Coinbase. It uses credits, where one credit equals one AI response.
The free tier covers five engines, and Starter unlocks 11, including Claude, Grok and DeepSeek. In August 2026 it added Shopping Pages, ChatGPT Ads reporting and 185 markets.
Why switch from HubSpot AEO
- Try it free. The free tier includes 300 credits across ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, Gemini and Copilot.
- 11 engines on Starter. Almost every major assistant in one plan.
- Action tools. An Action Center and a content optimization agent point you to fixes.
Where it falls short
- Credits go fast. 3,600 credits across 11 engines tracked daily covers only about 10 prompts.
- No middle tier. It jumps from free to $295, then Enterprise. The current pricing page names GA4, Search Console, Shopify and Webflow, not HubSpot.
Pricing: Free (300 credits), Starter $295/month (3,600 credits), Enterprise custom.
Best for: teams that care more about engine coverage than prompt count.
8. Scrunch: best for persona-based tracking in B2B
Scrunch tracks visibility by persona and buying stage, which suits B2B teams selling to more than one buyer. Sitecore acquired it on June 3, 2026.
Every plan covers seven engines: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Mode, AI Overviews and Meta AI. Its AXP feature serves AI-optimized versions of your pages to bots.
Why switch from HubSpot AEO
- 350 prompts on Starter. Enough to cover several personas and stages.
- Seven engines on every plan. No add-on math.
- Misinformation detection. Flags where AI gets your brand wrong.
Where it falls short
- Diagnoses, doesn't fix. Reviewers say it points out problems but leaves the fixes to you, and AXP needs engineering help.
- Higher floor. $250 to $300/month to start, $25 per extra seat. Some reviewers also wonder about the roadmap after the Sitecore deal.
Pricing: Starter $300/month ($250 yearly, 350 prompts, 3 seats), Growth $500. 7-day free trial.
Best for: B2B teams mapping visibility by persona and journey stage.
9. Promptwatch: best for crawler logs plus content
Promptwatch is an Amsterdam tool used by Duolingo and WPP. It raised a €6M seed in July 2026.
It pairs tracking with AI crawler logs, Search Console data and a Content Agent, which went live on all plans on July 28, 2026. Custom dashboards landed on September 22.
Why switch from HubSpot AEO
- Answer gap analysis. See the prompts where competitors appear and you don't.
- Crawler logs. Check whether AI bots actually read your pages.
- Content included. Professional adds 5 AEO articles a month.
Where it falls short
- Four engines per plan. You pick 4 from its list, and there's no Copilot.
- Seats and editing. Essential is one seat, and reviewers say generated content needs editing.
Pricing: Essential $95/month (50 prompts, 4 engines), Professional $245 (150), Business $579 (350). 7-day trial.
Best for: technical marketers who want bot data and content in one tool.
10. Writesonic: best if you want content and tracking together
Writesonic started as an AI writer and now bundles AI visibility tracking with article creation and WordPress publishing.
That makes it closer to HubSpot AEO's idea of "spot a gap, publish the fix", just outside HubSpot. Below Enterprise, it tracks ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews. In March 2026 it launched Agentic Commerce for ChatGPT shopping and Copilot, on Enterprise only.
Why switch from HubSpot AEO
- Articles in the plan. Starter includes 15 articles a month.
- AI Overviews included. Swaps Perplexity for Google's AI answers.
- Search Console on every tier. GA4 is Enterprise only.
Where it falls short
- Still three engines. Perplexity and Claude need Enterprise.
- Lighter analysis. Reviewers call the GEO side shallower than dedicated trackers, and some mention billing and cancellation problems.
Pricing: Starter $79/month billed yearly (50 prompts, 1 user), Basic $199 (100), Growth $399 (200). Free trial.
Best for: small content teams that publish on WordPress.
11. LLMrefs: best low-cost option for many engines
LLMrefs is a keyword-first tracker. You enter keywords, and it generates up to 500 prompts from them across 10 engines.
For $79 a month, that's the most engines and prompts on this list. It also has an API, CSV export and unlimited seats.
Why switch from HubSpot AEO
- 10 engines, no add-ons. Claude, Copilot and Grok come with the plan.
- Up to 500 prompts. Twenty times HubSpot AEO's standalone limit.
- No seat limits. Add your whole team and as many projects as you need.
Where it falls short
- Weekly, not daily. Dashboards update weekly at minimum, so fast changes show up late.
- Thin detail. No sentiment, citations at domain level, no execution, and the $79 price is marked limited time.
Pricing: $79/month single plan (limited-time price). 7-day trial.
Best for: tight budgets that want wide engine coverage.
What HubSpot AEO does well (and when to stay)
HubSpot AEO isn't a bad tool. It's a good first tool, and for some teams it's enough.
- CRM-based prompts. It suggests prompts from your CRM data. None of the alternatives above has a native HubSpot connector, per an AI Advisors comparison updated July 2026.
- Drafts where you publish. If your blog runs on HubSpot CMS, one click turns a recommendation into a draft in your brand voice.
- Citation Lift. Recommendations now show a projected lift in citation rate, which helps you pick what to do first.
- Already paid for. If you're on Marketing Hub Pro or Enterprise, you have 25 to 50 prompts at no extra cost.
Stay if you track a handful of core prompts, publish on HubSpot CMS and mostly need a score for leadership. Move on when you need Google's AI answers, Claude or Copilot, more than 50 prompts, or help writing and pitching. As a HubSpot partner agency Impulse Creative put it, the tool "cannot tell you whether you are measuring the right prompts."
Curious about the tech underneath? HubSpot AEO is built on XFunnel, which HubSpot acquired in 2025. We covered that tool in our XFunnel alternatives guide.
Which HubSpot AEO alternative should you choose?
- You want more engines, plus agents that write, publish and pitch: Orchly.
- You want clean daily tracking for a big team: Peec AI or SE Visible.
- You already run SEO in Semrush: Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit.
- You have an enterprise budget and an analyst: Profound.
