1. Orchly: best AI Overviews tracker to win more AI Overview citations

Semrush's Position Tracking updates daily and records when an AI Overview appears and when your domain is cited in it. You can toggle rankings with or without the AI Overview.
- What it captures: AI Overview presence and your citations. Brand mentions without a link live in the separate AI Visibility Toolkit.
- Where it falls short. Unlinked mentions and AI Mode need the toolkit, which is priced per domain.

Ahrefs offers a free AI Overviews Tracker that shows a site's AI Overview mentions, trend, top topics and most-cited pages, with no signup. Rank Tracker also alerts you when a keyword wins an AI Overview citation.
- What it captures: mentions and citations from Brand Radar's modeled prompt index.
- Where it falls short. The free data is modeled, not live, and full tracking needs Brand Radar, from $199/month per platform.

Can you track AI Overviews in Google Search Console?
Partly. On June 3, 2026, Google launched generative AI performance reports in Search Console, and rolled them out worldwide on August 31.
- What it shows: impressions when a page from your site appears in an AI Overview or AI Mode answer, by page, country, device and date.
- What it doesn't show: clicks, the queries that triggered the answer, or which competitors appeared.
- AI Overviews and AI Mode are combined in one report.
Search Console tells you that you appeared. A monitoring tool tells you where you didn't, and who took your place.
Why AI Overview monitoring matters in 2026
- They're everywhere. Similarweb data from July 2026 puts AI Overviews on 43% of Google searches. Semrush saw commercial-intent AI Overviews grow 71% between November 2025 and April 2026.
- They cut clicks. Ahrefs found in February 2026 that the top organic result gets 58% fewer clicks when an AI Overview appears.
- Being cited helps. Seer's April 2026 study found pages cited in an AI Overview earned about 120% more clicks per impression than pages that weren't.
- They change constantly. Ahrefs found AI Overview content changes about every 2 days, so weekly checks miss most of it.
