What are skills in Orchly
Skills are reusable instruction sets your agents can call on. Use prebuilt skills or write your own.
A skill is a saved set of instructions an agent follows to do one job well. Where an agent is the worker, a skill is the playbook it works from. Skills are how you make sure the same job is done the same way every time, no matter which agent or chat runs it.
You’ll find them under Content & Action → Skills.
Prebuilt skills
Every workspace ships with prebuilt skills, tagged Orchly and Prebuilt, that cover the common content jobs:
- AEO Article Writing, write a complete AEO and SEO-optimized article for a target keyword, from research to brief to metadata.
- Content Refresh, diagnose what a decaying page is losing and add missing sub-topics and stronger links.
- Content Translation, translate and localize a page into another language while preserving structure and links.
- Link Enrichment, add relevant internal links and authoritative outbound citations to a page.
You can use these as they are, or duplicate one and adjust it.
Skills vs agents
It’s worth keeping the two straight:
- A skill is the instructions for a task (“how to write an AEO article”).
- An agent is the worker that carries out the task, using a skill, a model, and abilities.
The same skill can power several agents, and a single agent can draw on more than one skill. Get a skill right once and every agent that uses it improves.
Skills are available to your agents and in Chat, where you can attach them to a conversation. Improving a shared skill quietly upgrades everything that relies on it.
